With measurements of just 8 x 6.5 x 1.6 mm, the LMBTA068 BlueDevice is said to be the smallest module available for adding Bluetooth functionality to code division multiple access (CDMA) handsets and PC cards. The Bluetooth device has been developed to allow designers using CDMA chipsets to easily add to their designs the RF transceiver portion of Bluetooth. It also provides seamless interfacing with a Bluetooth baseband built directly into the chips using a standard Bluetooth for CDMA interface protocol. The 3.3V BlueDevice has an output power spec of 0.5 dBm (typ.) and costs $100 each. Samples are available. MURATA ELECTRONICS NORTH AMERICA INC., Smyrna, GA. (770) 436-1300.
