The first transceiver designed for high-speed interfacing with the VME320 backplane is claimed to be the V320 8-bit universal bus transceiver. The chip, which is capable of driving large capacitive loads with minimum skew, features guaranteed dynamic threshold performance (VIHD/VILD) and guaranteed simultaneous switching noise level (VOLP/VOLV) for increased noise immunity and reduced input skew. The chip offers output switching specified for 50, 250 and 500 pF loads. Glitch-free live insertion is possible. Additionally, the device offers guaranteed output skew of less than 4 ns pin-to-pin into 500-pF loads, as well as guaranteed multiple output switching specifications. Samples are available.
