Resonant frequencies approximately 50% higher than conventional chokes with multilayer coils are reported with the SIMID 06 series of RF chokes, which can be mounted in either direction. During the chokes' production, a laser beam focused on a copper-coated ceramic core cuts a helical pattern into the conductive material to form a single-layer winding with good RF properties. Inductances range from 1 to 220 nH, with tolerances as fine as ±2%.The devices have a footprint of 1.6 x 0.8 mm and insertion height of 0.8 mm. Applications include keyless entry systems, cordless and cell phones.
