They also include transceivers for control signals. And all of these features are configurable for RS-232, RS-449, EIA-530, EIA-530-A, V.35, V.36, and X.21. Three mode-selection pins are provided for DTE or DCE configurations. The LTC2846 provides three configurable drivers and receivers and the LTC2844 includes four. Both are available in a 36-lead SSOP, and the LTC2844 is also offered in a 28-lead SSOP. Price starts at $16.85 pair/10,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
