Targeting portable applications, the LT5546 IF quadrature demodulator operates on supply voltages down to 1.8V with a typical power consumption of 24 mA. The device accepts input signals from 40 MHz to 500 MHz and employs a quadrature phase shifter and a variable gain amplifier that provides a log-linear gain range from –7 dB to +56 dB. Additionally, an on-chip power detector with a detection range from –30 dBm to +8 dBm provides signal-level detection and the appropriate gain adjustments. Other features include a THD of less than –57 dBc, I/Q amplitude imbalance of 0.2 dB, and an I/Q phase imbalance of 0.6°. In a 4 mm x 4 mm QFN, price is $3.35 each/1,000.
