Realtek Semiconductor Corp. unveiled and demonstrated the designs of new wireless audio/video reference designs at CES 2009 in Las Vegas. According to Realtek, the ref designs provide a rich multimedia experience with unmatched performance and ease of use.

Devices based on the company’s Wireless AV reference designs stream up to 720p video and high-quality audio from PC to TV over a range of 30 feet. For audiophiles, the wireless audio-video receiver easily provides enough bandwidth to accommodate 7.1 surround sound, and the streamlined installation procedure preserves critical ease of use.

Because of their extremely flexible menu of input-output options, the reference designs provide OEMs and ODMs with maximum freedom to adapt and optimize the final product. For video, both VGA and HDMI output are supported, while the audio options are Line out, TOSLINK, and Audio via HDMI.
