Said to measure 50% to 80% smaller than competing devices, the HPMD-7904 and HPMD-7905 film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs) duplexers are expected to help open the door to development of ultra-slim cell phones and data cards for PDAs. These miniature duplexers measure 5.6 x 11.9 x 2 mm and are targeted at PCS handset and data card applications operating in the 1900-MHz frequency band. The FBAR duplexers are said to enhance the sensitivity and dynamic range of CDMA receivers, as well as providing high transmit and receive isolation and offering high sensitivity and excellent de-sense immunity. Low insertion loss also increases talk time and improves reliability. HPMD-7904 is priced at $3.80 each, while HPMD-7905 is $3.30 each, both in quantities of one million. Sample and production quantities are available. For more information, contact AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 235-0312.
