The MLX71122 frequency agile RF receiver targets applications in the unlicensed Industrial-Scientific-Medical (ISM) and Short-Range-Devices (SRD) frequency bands at 300 to 930MHz. The receiver’s programmable PLL enables all sub-bands of the European 863 MHz to 870 MHz band by using software only. Available in a 32-lead QFN package, the chip measures 5 mm x 5 mm and requires no external ceramic filter or discriminator components. It operates on supply voltages from 3V to 5.5V with a typical current consumption of 11 mA. In standby mode, current draw is below 50 nA. Additionally, receiver input sensitivity is as low as -112 dBm for ASK and -107dBm for FSK signals. Price for the MLX71122 is $1.67 each/100,000. MELEXIS USA, Concord, NH. (603) 223-2362.
