Breaking speed records, the MT2170 embarks as the industry's first 1-GHz input tuner based on the CableLabs DOCSIS 3.0 specification, delivering data speeds beyond 160 Mb/s and a 100-MHz bandwidth. The MT2170 tuner reportedly offers the equivalent functionality of four DOCSIS 2.0 digital tuners in a 7 mm x 7 mm QFN package. Primary applications for the device are cable modems and video-over-IP set-top boxes. Sampling in the second quarter, price is less than $5 each in volume.
