Consisting of the AL300A network management chip and RoXMan network management software, AL300M is said to provide a complete solution for designing network management capabilities into Fast and Gigabit Ethernet and Layer 3 switches- these "intelligent" switches capture traffic data and permit web-based viewing of traffic statistics. Housed in a 208-pin PQFP, the AL300A chip uses either the RoX or RoX-II bus to collect management-related information from network switch devices. The RoXMan software is said to be an intelligent agent that runs on an embedded microprocessor and collects, formats and interprets the reams of detailed information captured and reported by the chip.
