Supporting operation in the 2.4-GHz ISM band, the PH2401 short-range radio transceiver is fully compliant with the Bluetooth 1.0 specification. At 25 mW total, it's claimed to consume up to four times less power than competitive solutions. The device provides all of the circuitry needed for transmit/receive functionality, including a VCO, synthesizer, PA, LNA, IF filters, RSSI, and bit slicer. The low-power transmitter employs a two-point direct digital modulation scheme that provides an output power of up to 0 dBm from a 1.8 vdc supply and the receiver has a sensitivity of -84 dBm. A proprietary architecture reportedly ensures performance levels even under non-ideal conditions.
