The company has launched two new processor programs for high-service OC-48 and 10-Gb/s applications, as well as new models of its IQ2000 NPU. The products are designed to help networking equipment OEMs create new generations of high-performance communication systems, such as core routers/switches, edge aggregation routers, session/service management systems, multi-service provisioning platforms, wireless base stations, and broadband access concentrators. The new processors include the IQ2200 chip, which can perform complex upper layer services, such as HTTP load balancing, content delivery networking, IPSEC VPNs, and DiffServ, while maintaining a 2-Gb/s line rate. The IQ2200 will be sampling in early 2002; new and existing IQ2000 devices are shipping in volume today with prices starting at $215. VITESSE SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Camarillo, CA. (800) 848-3773.
