Embarking as a single-chip receiver for T-DMB and DAB-IP broadcasts, the Paradiso 1T (FS1032) relies on enhanced system-in-package techniques employing the company's digiSHIELD technology to integrate the Paradiso multi-standard baseband IC with a high-performance RF tuner and passive components. According to the company, when two dies are stacked closely together, the coupling of clock noise and digital interference from a baseband die to the tuner is magnified. The digiSHIELD technology neutralizes this by applying noise suppression techniques to minimize coupling, while maximizing RF sensitivity and adjacent channel-rejection performance. The device is said to deliver performance levels that exceed CENELEC (EN50248) requirements including a power consumption of less than 140 mW. Paradiso 1T is sampling now and will be available for mass production in the third quarter. FRONTIER SILICON LTD., Watford Herts, UK. +44 (0)1923 474200.
