The SuperPHY family offers physical layer (PHY) devices for just about every segment of the GPS industry. Targeted for short reach applications, the S19226 dissipates just 700 mW, reportedly making it the industry’s lowest power OC-192/10 Gigabit Ethernet transceiver; the PHY is also claimed to be the first such device to break the $100 price barrier. The S19211 transceiver is for intermediate reach applications and has a power rating of 900 mW with an operating range of 9.9 to 11.1 Gb/s. Designed for use in protocol-agnostic, hot-pluggable optics modules, the S19215 10-Gb/s transceiver is said to be the first to support the SFI-4.2 OIF standard interface for multi-protocol traffic over the same link. And, for metro transport and metro long reach, the S3193 transmitter and S3094 receiver employ the company’s EYEMAX technology with proprietary dispersion compensation circuitry.
