This family of full-duplex, single-fiber optical transceivers can receive video and transmit and receive voice and Internet data over a single optical fiber. These two- and three-port bi-directional receivers, called diplexers and triplexers, respectively, provide various wavelength allocations and data rates for FTTx architectures, such as point-to-point, APON or EPON. Offered in a small form-factor, the diplexer devices incorporate PECL interfaces with data rates from 155 Mb/s (OC-3) to 1.25 Mb/s (OC-24). The triplexers integrate several video receiver options and high-bandwidth capabilities. A 1-GHz video option supports all CATV and HDTV requirements and a 2-GHz option supports direct broadcast satellite. They also support data rates from OC-3 to OC-24.
