Housed in a 3 x 3 mm QFN package with ESD protection on all pins, the RF2861 single-band, front-end receiver also integrates a TX LO buffer amplifier. Designed for CDMA, JCDMA and CDMA450 applications, the device amplifies and down-converts RF signals via its three-gain state, low-noise amplifier (LNA) with 17 dB of gain control. The LNA integrates a single-gain state, high IIP3 mixer (8.5 dBm). Both LNA gain and power down modes are digitally controlled, and an external, current-setting resistor allows users to adjust the LNA and mixer IIP3 to minimize current consumption. In high gain mode while using a typical SAW filter, the device can achieve 25 dB of cascaded gain with a 2.1 dB noise figure. Price is $1.88 each/10K. RF MICRO DEVICES INC., Greensboro, NC.
