The MT1020 Bluetooth baseband controller is touted as the first in the industry to provide a full-duplex codec on-chip.Based on an architecture that is optimized for voice, the device performs both voice and data in Bluetooth applications.
The on-chip codec includes a microphone amplifier and earpiece driver, and is filter compliant to the ITU-T G.712 standard. The device is said to be ideal for portable applications, since it consumes very little power.
The MT1020 is supported with a complete Bluetooth development kit and sample design platform. The kit includes software and application information and is priced at $4,000. The MT1020, packaged in a 121-pin SSBGA, is priced at $7 in volume quantities.
