Targeting DSL equipment manufacturers, the Scalable Modular and Robust Technology (SMART) series of xDSL splitter modules can each replace up to 14 inductors and capacitors. The modules also share a common footprint using various filter technologies to address global DSL requirements. The splitter modules are said to be transparent to the lower frequency signals routed via telephone networks or the home, thus facilitating data and voice signals on the same telephone line. Modules B8047 and B8049 meet option A of ETSI specs using a low profile design (0.620") with an industry standard footprint of 0.634" x 2". Modules are also available that meet ANSI T1.413 Issue 2 specs. SMART xDSL splitter modules cost $4 each. Details of module B8047 are on data sheet B813 (see URL) and for B8049, B826.
