Two series of surface-mount optocouplers provide reinforced isolation in a 2-mm high package, reportedly one of the industry's thinnest for this device type. The devices consist of a phototransistor optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared-emitting diode, with the optocouplers available in either of two mini-flat packages: the standard four-pin TCLT10xx or the TCLT11xx five-pin base-connected device. Nine different current transfer ratio options are available for both families ranging from 40% to 600%. Additional features include a -40¡C to 100¡C temperature range and a typical coupling capacitance of 0.3 pF. Prices for the TCLT10xx and -11xx are $12 and $13 each/100K, respectively.
