Measuring only 3 mm x 3 mm, the RF2870 CDMA front-end receiver integrates a transmit, local oscillator buffer amplifier and meets CDMA, CDMA IS-95, JCDMA, CDMA2000 1x, and CDMA2000 1x-EVDO standards. The device includes a three-state gain control to meet IS-98 IMD tests requirements, digital control of LNA gain, mixer gain, and a power-down mode. It amplifies and down-converts RF signals with stepped gain control and adjustable IIP3 of the mixer using an external resistor. Other features include a cascaded noise figure of 1.9 dB and a cascaded gain of 25 dB. The receiver is available in a leadless plastic package.
