Providing high-speed data transmission for heavy-throughput applications such as digital video and audio and hard disk drives are four IEEE 1394 link-layer interface devices. The chips allow designers of PCs, peripheral equipment and consumer electronics to increase the data throughput of their systems and products. The four devices are: the GP2Lynx for general-purpose PC and peripherals equipment applications; PCILynx2, used in PCI bus-to-1394 applications; TSB12LV01 for high-end networking equipment; and DVLynx, targeted at consumer electronics products involving digital video. Added features include larger on-chip FIFO memory, which assures efficient operations at higher speeds.
