Promising the best combination of performance and features for SONET/SDH line cards operating at rates up to OC-12/STM-4, the ZL30415 analog PLL claims jitter performance that exceeds industry requirements and a frequency-selectable output clock that reduces design costs. The device exhibits a maximum jitter figure of 3.3 psRMS for OC-3/STM-1 rates and 3.5 psRMS for OC-12/STM-4 applications. Two output clocks are provided: one fixed 19.44 MHz CMOS clock and a frequency- selectable LVPECL clock. Users can select any of the standard frequencies used in OC-3/STM-1 to OC-12/STM-4 applications--i.e., 19.44, 38.88, 77.76, 155.52, or 622.08 MHz. Available in a 64-ball CABGA measuring 8 mm x 8 mm, price is $24 each/1,000. ZARLINK SEMICONDUCTOR, Ottawa, Canada. (613) 270-7115.
