Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, selected TECOM Industries Inc., to develop and manufacture its mid- and high-band receive and transmit antennas for the ADM-160B Miniature Air Launched Decoy (MALD) program. The MALD is a new effects-based approach to counter-air operations to neutralize enemy air defenses. MALD can replicate manned aircraft combat flight profiles and radar signatures of US aircraft, diverting enemy air defense resources to engage the decoys while leaving manned aircraft less vulnerable. “TECOM antenna systems are proving to be vital components in many of our nation’s new electronic warfare systems,” said Ralph Phillips, President of TECOM Industries. “This contract award by Raytheon Systems is further proof of our capability to develop and deploy antenna system solutions that are on the leading edge of 21st century military technology.”
