HF Crystal Measures Only 2.0 By 1.6 By 0.5 mm

July 27, 2007
With a frequency range of 24 to 50 MHz, the TU1A from Tellurian Technology suits a wide range of wireless communications applications.

The TU1A is currently the smallest quartz crystal device available, according to its manufacturer, Tellurian Technologies Inc. Measuring only 2.0 by 1.6 mm, it has a seated height of just 0.5 mm. The TU1A comes in a ceramic surface-mount package and complies with the European Union's Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS). Its frequency range is 24 to 50 MHz, but the company plans to produce lower frequencies by the end of 2007.

The TU1A offers a very low frequency stability of ±5 ppm from 0°C to 70°C, with a frequency tolerance of ±10 ppm. Frequency tolerance is ±10 ppm. The crystal is well-suited for wireless communications systems incorporating Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WiMAX, ZigBee, PCMCIA modules, GPS modules, or any other telecommunications applications.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The TU1A costs $0.99 in quantities of 10,000. Lead time is eight weeks for samples, depending on frequency. Lead time for production is six to eight weeks. FOR MORE INFORMATION
