Capable of extending cable lengths by more than 60% in real-world network environments for 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX Ethernet applications, the CS8952 is the newest member of firm's Crystal LAN family. The chip is a 10/100 Ethernet transceiver suited for 10/100Base-TX/FX Ethernet switches, multi-segment repeaters, remote access servers, routers, printer interface cards and network interface cards, as well as other high-speed networking uses. The device combines a mix of analog and digital processing on a single chip, creating a cost-effective design that's said to deliver 10/100 Ethernet performance in the areas of noise immunity, near-end crosstalk margin, transmitter jitter, power and receiver performance over extended cable lengths. The CS8952 is currently sampling and is packaged in a 100-pin TQFP.
