The latest addition to the SµMMIT family of MIL-STD-1553 products is a dual-redundant 1553 remote terminal (RT) that also integrates dual 5V bus transceivers, 4K x 16 bits of memory and a memory management unit (MMU). Targeted for use for interfacing various subsystems in electronic counter-measure systems, precision-guided munitions, and vehicle and flight management systems, SµMMIT RTE multi-chip module is offered with three types of screening: prototype, reduced high reliability, and QML Q.The 1553 interface device is housed in a compact, one sq. in., 132-lead quad flatpack package. Reference design support and C language drivers also are available for the part, which has been assigned SMD No. 5962-98587 by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC).
