The XpressFlow 2080 is an advanced 10/100Mb Ethernet LAN switch chipset designed to support a high level of bandwidth management capabilities. The chipset is for applications such as workgroup switches and stackable/modular wiring closet switches using Gigabit Ethernet and ATM (OC12) for uplinks and provides aggregate switching performance of up to 14.2 Mpackets/s. This device uses a weighted fair queuing scheme to let users adjust the ratio of traffic that each queue provides. This scheme ensures that high priority traffic will be forwarded quickly while low priority traffic passes at a lower rate without being starved.
