Offered as a 100-MHz version of the firm's SX52BD, the SX52BD100 100-MIPS, communications controller is claimed as a cost-effective vehicle for adding Internet connectivity to such devices as household appliances, security systems, and factory automation. Features include single-cycle instruction execution and a fixed, deterministic three-cycle interrupt response time that eliminates resolution and SNR performance limits. This allows the device to support all available Virtual Peripheral modules, which are software modules implementing functions normally performed in hardware. Available in a 52-pin QFP, pricing is $10 each/1000.
