The AD8018 is said to be the industry's first +5V line driver with the output drive capability of delivering full-rate ADSL. It consists of dual, high-output current amplifiers, each capable of driving rail-to-rail output voltage and 350 mA minimum output current from a single +5V supply. Also reported to have superior distortion performance that does not compromise "reach," the AD8018 provides more than enough output power for the upstream requirements of G.dmt and G.lite modems. Its single +5V operation and small package make it well suited for USB and PCMCIA ADSL modems. Available now in an 8L SOIC and 14L TSSOP, the AD8018 is priced at $2.78 each/1,000.
