Touted as the industry's first InfiniBand chip architecture, the IBandit is said to be the foundation for a suite of high performance InfiniBand channel adapters. These system-on-chip devices include integrated SerDes, dual PCI/PCI-X interfaces, built-in PCI bridge and arbiters, and other integrated features. Basic features include 4X, 10-Gb links support, PCI-X support, multiple virtual lanes, and large maximum transfer units (MTU). The architecture includes four InfiniBand (IB) MACs to handle high-speed traffic, data buffering, packet forming, flow control, error detection, and management. It also includes a transaction switch, protocol engine, and a PCI/PCI-X bus.
