Targeted at Broadband Internet Infrastructure equipment for the emerging Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), the CHESS-II (Channelizer Engine for SONET/SDH) chipset enables optical transport functionality, sub-wavelength cross connection and network service aggregation. The chipset includes the PM5317 SPECTRA-9953, PM5307 TBS-9953, PM5374 TSE-160, and the PM5395 CRSU-4x2488.
Its unique architecture enables consolidation of traditional SONET/SDH equipment together with IP routers and multi-service switches into a single shelf platform. Pricing for the chips starts at $399 each/1,000 for the PM5395 CRSU-4x2488.
