The AD8347 is claimed to be the industry's first direct conversion quadrature demodulator that operates from 800 MHz to 2.7 GHz. The chip integrates RF and baseband programmable gain stages that provide 65 dB of linear-in-dB gain control and a buffered LO driver that requires a drive level of just -10 dBm. Other features include base-band level detectors, dc offset nulling, and dual differential output amplifiers with adjustable dc common mode levels to directly drive a dual-channel a/d converter. Targeting emerging MMDC markets, the chip is said to enable simpler, smaller, lower-cost receivers and allows direct conversion radio implementation for point-to-multipoint broadband access equipment. Available in a 28-lead TSSOP that operates on a single 2.7 to 5.5V supply with power down, price is $5.90 each/1,000.
