Sampling has begun on the first two members of the Socket Armor family of gigabit-speed Internet security processors. They include the CR7020 full-duplex security processor for accelerating e-commerce transactions based on Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) standards and the CR7000 public key accelerator for use alone or with the CR7020. The CR7020 can also be used in Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications based on the Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) architecture. In joint SSL/TLS and IPsec designs, the processor can handle both protocols simultaneously and supports current cryptographic standards. The CR7000 can be used in VPN Internet Key Exchange operations or in protocol handshaking for SSL/TLS and digital signature computations. It can also make use of Key Blaster technology for accelerating public key encryption and digital signature computations. The CR7020 costs $350 each/1,000 and the CR7000, $300. CORRENT CORP.
