Claiming the lowest current consumption in the market, the LMX23xxU family of dual phase locked loops (PLLs) is pin and software compatible with the LMX23L devices but with a power consumption that is 43%. Comprised of six devices, the dual PLL family also offers a 3 dB to 6 dB improvement in spurial performance compared to the predecessor PLLs and uses a digital PLL technique combined with an accurate reference oscillator and voltage-controlled oscillator. The LMX2330/2331/2332/2336/2377U devices are designed for use as local oscillators for RF and first IF in dual-conversion transceivers, with the LMX2377U including a 1.8V data interface for compatibility with low-voltage processor I/O and control logic. The sixth device, the LMX2335U, is designed for applications requiring two independent transmit and receive PLLs. Prices start at $1.77 each/1,000. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA.
