Representing the fourth generation in the nP7000 family, the nP7510 is a 10-Gbps network processor (NPU) targeted at applications such as 10-Gbps Ethernet and OC-192 Packet over SONET (PoS) and ATM. A fully software-programmable, policy-enabled NPU, the nP7510 employs six of the companyÕs nPcores and is constructed in 0.18-micron CMOS technology. Compared to previous generations, the new NPU offers enhanced debugging capabilities and minimized intrusiveness with its On-Chip Debug engine. It also features a new optimized memory interface for the six nPcores, enabling new savings in memory space, and supports a greater number of simultaneous tasks, or threads, than prior generations. The nP7510 complements the companyÕs previously announced 10-Gbps traffic managers, framers, PHYs, and switch fabrics to form a complete integrated solution for 10-Gbps applications. Pricing for the nP7510 NPU is $700 each/10,000. APPLIED MICRO CIRCUITS CORP., San Diego, CA. (858) 450-9333.
