Offering a high level of integration, the Pathfinder CPE chipset lays claim to being the first to integrate the communications processor and ADSL digital pump on a single chip. This level of integration foresees a reduction of the ADSL router bill of materials by up to 40%. The set consists of two chips: the AD6680 processor/pump combo and AD6480 line-driver analog front end (AFE). Interfacing to the AD6480, the AD6680 provides Layer-1 to Layer-7 processing including ADSL and ATM processing, bridging/routing, statefull firewall, QoS/bandwidth management, network management, and PC Card support for WLAN/802.11b.
