The Extended Reach VDSL technology is said to be the only standard DSL solution available to scale from 135 Kb/s to 52 Mb/s on a single platform. Employing the optional “Upstream 0” band defined for 997 and 998 band plans in ETSI, ANSI and ITU-T VDSL standards, this technology extends the performance of standard VDSL beyond the customer service area (CSA) distance and specifically hits sweet-spots of 10 Mb/s at distances greater than 10,000’ and 16 Mb/s at 7,500’. The Extended Reach VDSL technology is supported by all of the company’s VDSL chipsets. For further information, contact METALINK LTD., Folsom, CA. (916) 355-1580.
