Extending the CMOS RF Aero transceiver line, the Aero+ GPRS Class 12-compliant transceiver chipset raises the integration bar with a digitally controlled oscillator (DCXO). This approach eliminates the need for a voltage controlled temperature compensated crystal oscillator (VC-TCXO). The transceiver also integrates the IF SAW filter, external low noise amplifiers (LNAs), transmit and RF voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) modules, and more than 60 other discrete components. A software programmable universal baseband interface allows users to implement the transceiver with any baseband subsystem. The Aero+ transceiver includes the 32-lead micro-leadframe package (MLP) Si4200 transceiver, 20-lead MLP Si4201 baseband interface, and the 32-lead MLP Si4134T RF synthesizer. Price is $5.80 each/10,000. SILICON LABORATORIES INC., Austin, TX. (877) 411-7522.
