Poised for use in Bluetooth CDMA handsets, SiW1711, SiW1712 and SiW1713 offer users a single-chip approach for integrating radio modems into their designs. The SiW1711 is a general-purpose radio modem and, otherwise similar, the SiW1713 integrates the Nokia RF-BB interface. Both devices are suitable for use with a wide range of Bluetooth baseband ICs. Optimized for CDMA phones, the SiW1712 IC is a direct conversion radio modem with an extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. It integrates all active components and claims to exceed Bluetooth specifications by substantial margins. Other features common to all three modems include single-ended RF I/O that eliminates external baluns and switch circuits, support for all standard reference clock frequencies, a receiver sensitivity of greater than -80 dBm, transmitter output power up to +4 dBm, and an AGC circuit. Each chip is available in a 32-pin, 5 mm x 5 mm x 0.8 mm QFN package. SILICON WAVE INC., San Diego, CA. (858) 404-7704.
