Unveiled as low-cost devices for Mobilecomm, Bluetooth, and short-range wireless products, the UPG2214 0.5W, GaAs switches assume position as the market's first SPDT switches to guarantee performance with a 1.8V control voltage. Control-voltage range is from 1.8V to 5.3V. Specs include a typical insertion loss of 0.3 dB at 2 GHz, typical isolation of 27 dB at 2 GHz, and a PIN(1 dB) of +27 dBm at 3V and +20 dBm at 1.8V. The chips are available in two packages: the UPG2214TB in an SOT-363 TB for drop-in replacement of other industry-standard switches and the smaller UPG2214TK in a 0.55 mm TK package. Prices are $0.22 and $0.25 each/100,000, respectively. CALIFORNIA EASTERN LABORATORIES, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 988-3500.
