A patented architecture, dubbed Polar Impact, empowers the TR15431N transceiver to support GSM, GPRS, and EDGE standards while also improving talk times and data rates. The device sets up shop in a 6 mm x 6 mm package, eliminating all transmit SAW filters, and is accompanied with a 6 mm x 6 mm power-amplifier module. It delivers what is claimed as true Class 12 data rates up to 236 kb/s for both transmit and receive and retains the ability to transmit at higher RF power levels. Additionally, the device features automatic calibration for power supply variation, temperature, and transient performance. The TR15431N is available for sampling now with production slated for the current quarter. TROPIAN INC., Cupertino, CA. (408) 865-1300.
