Introduced as the industry’s most powerful 20-port, 10 Gb/s Ethernet switch, the MB8AA3020 is designed to meet the demands of high-density backplane switching in ATCA and microTCA blade server and data center applications. The chip delivers beyond 400 Gb/s of non-blocking, aggregate switching bandwidth through 3 MB of proprietary, multi-stream shared buffer memory and an integrated 10-Gb/s serial SerDes interface. It embeds 20 full-duplex ports within a 1,156-pin FCBGA package and features state-of-the-art virtualization, backward congestion management notification, and priority pause features. An on-chip micro-engine drives a 2 x 10/100/1GbE management interface. In addition to standard 4K VLAN and QinQ capabilities, the chip provides 64 extended VLAN addresses to logically partition operator networks without QinQ.
