Groomed for low-power automotive, consumer, and industrial applications the MC33696 PLL-tuned UHF transceiver and MC33596 low-voltage receiver are access and remote control devices for streamlining existing RF designs. Both can be used for remote keyless entry, garage-door control, radio-frequency ID products, alarm monitoring, wireless alarm and security systems, home automation and automatic meter reading. The addition of a context-switching feature enables the devices to be optimized for remote keyless entry, tire pressure monitoring systems, or passive entry receivers in the car body. Both operate across a voltage range of 2.1V to 5.5V. The MC33696 transceiver operates at frequencies of 304 MHz, 315 MHz, 426 MHz, 434 MHz, 868 MHz, and 915 MHz. With a receive sensitivity up to -108 dBm and data rates to 20 Kb/s, the device consumes 9.2 mA in receive mode. The MC33596 receiver operates at the same frequencies and also consumes 9.2 mA in receive mode. Prices for the MC33696 and MC33596 are $1.96 and $1.82 each/10,000, respectively.
