Deemed to be the industry's smallest, fully-integrated, RF front-end module for 802.11 a/b/g/n applications, the FM7805 comes in a QFN package measuring 4 mm x 4 mm x 0.6 mm. It employs Epicom's patented, linearized power amplifier integrated with a T/R diversity switch, low noise amplifier, filters, diplexers, power detector, and all biasing and matching circuitry. The modules require practically no external components when used in certain embedded mobile applications. Other module features include an operating current of 150 mA for 802.11b/g applications and 170 mA for 802.11a when biased with a supply voltage of 3.3V. Available for sampling, pricing is under $2 each in volume. EPIC COMMUNICATIONS INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 752-9135.
