Automotive-qualified with dual RF inputs, the MLX71120 and MLX71121 RF receivers target low-cost antenna diversity applications in the unlicensed Industrial-Scientific-Medical (ISM) and Short-Range-Device (SRD) bands. They address the European 863 MHz to 870 MHz SRD bands or the ISM bands at 902 MHz to 928 MHz in North America while remaining applicable for lower frequency bands at 315 MHz (US) or 433 MHz (Europe and China). The MLX71120 includes FSK and ASK demodulators and allows the selection of an external intermediate frequency filter while the MLX71121 with internal demodulator adds an on-chip IF filter with a 230-kHz bandwidth, eliminating the need for an external IF filter. Shared features of both devices include 32-lead QFN packages measuring 5 mm x 5 mm, a supply voltage range from 2.1V to 5.5V with a typical current consumption of 6.5 mA to 11mA, and a standby-mode current below 50 nA. Price for either device is $1.50 each/100,000. MELEXIS USA, Concord, NH. (603) 223-2362.
