A high level of integration allows the MAX2165 single-conversion tuner to provide the industry’s lowest external bill of materials in the smallest package for DVB-H mobile television applications, according to the company. Along with all of the tuner functions, the IC incorporates an RF-tracking filter, low-noise amplifier, transmit-reject notch filter, and programmable baseband, low-pass channel-selection filters in a 5 mm x 5 mm, 28-pin TQFN package. The MAX2165 consumes only 21 mW at an 8% duty cycle, covers a 470-MHz to 780-MHz signal range, and operates from a single 2.85V supply. It fully complies with MBRAI and Nordig requirements and is specified to operate over the –40°C to 85°C range. Prices start at $4.00 each/1,000. An evaluation kit and reference designs are also available. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
