The MAX2557 and MAX2597 WCDMA Band II and Band V femto base-station transceiver chipset employs a unique digital interface for the North American UMTS market. The receiver (MAX2557) and transmitter (MAX2597) rely on a proprietary high dynamic range MAX-PHY interface to eliminate the need for a mixed-signal analog front-end. The MAX2557 has four low-noise amplifier inputs while the MAX2599 integrates power amplifiers. The MAX2557 is available in a 48-pin fcLGA package and the MAX2597 comes in a 64-pin fcLGA.
