Ultra-Wideband High Linearity Mixer Features 50 Ω Matched Input

Aug. 3, 2013
High performance mixer provides continuous 50 Ω matched input from 30 MHz to 6 GHz.

A high performance mixer from Linear Technology, the LTC5510, provides a continuous 50 Ω matched input from 30 MHz to 6 GHz, while boasting outstanding linearity and gain flatness. Output can reach up to 4.5 GHz, allowing the device to be used either as an upconversion or downconversion mixer with a linearity performance of 27.8 dBm OIP3 while upconverting, and 24.9 dBm IIP3 while downconverting at 2 GHz. External filters are minimized or eliminated due to low level leakage. Suitable for a variety of applications such as cellular basestations, wireless repeaters and microwave backhauls that can cross over multiple frequency bands, the mixer is ideally suited for VHF/UHF band radios, broadcast and white-space radios, military communications, cable systems, RF and wireless test equipment, public safety radios, radar receivers, satellite communications and wireless professional microphone receivers. Packaged in a 16-lead, 4 x 4 mm QFN and specified for case temperature operation from -40°C to 105°C, the device is optimized for single 5 V supply operation but can also be powered with a 3.3 V supply. Available immediately, the LTC5510 mixer is priced starting at $4.90 each/1,000.
