Precision Oscillators Offer Improved Phase Noise And Jitter

Oct. 14, 2013
Improved phase noise and reduced jitter equip the precision oscillator series for modern high-speed data transmissions over operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

Fox Electronics’ next generation of XpressO technology, the XpressO-Ultra Series of precision oscillators improves the phase jitter (12 kHz to 20 MHz) to 250 fs typical, compared to 750 fs typical of the XpressO. Improved phase noise and reduced jitter equip the new series for modern high-speed data transmissions over an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The first configuration released in the series is a 3.3 V LVPECL version with stabilities of either ±50 or ±100 ppm in a standard 5 x 3.2 mm package. These oscillators are suited for data transmission applications with rigorous requirements such as 40 and 100 GbE WAN/LANs, 16 and 32 Gb fiber channel, 6 and 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA storage, and high speed OTNs. Each oscillator is assigned a unique serial ID that tracks every aspect of the manufacturing process, the source of raw materials used, electrical testing and any optimized electrical parameters. Pricing for an XpressO-Ultra oscillator is dependent upon configuration and quantity. Delivery is samples 3 to 5 days, production quantities one to two weeks ARO.
