Custom MMIC has added the CMD194C3, a 6-20 GHz MMIC low-noise amplifier, to its product library. The device offers low noise figure and high gain while requiring a single-supply voltage. Housed in a leadless, Pb-free and RoHs compliant 3 x 3 mm ceramic surface-mount QFN package, the broadband amplifier operates from 6-20 GHz while delivering greater than 20 dB of gain with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +15 dBm and a noise figure of 2 dB. The ports of the MMIC are matched to 50 Ω, thereby eliminating the need for external dc blocks and RF matching. The CMD194C3 broadband MMIC low-noise amplifier is ideally suited for EW and communications systems where small size and low power consumption are needed. Applications include point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, military EW systems and test instrumentation.
